Cutting Christmas Card Consumption

Over the last couple of weeks Heather and I have begun receiving Christmas cards at home from family and friends and enjoy knowing that we're being thought of during this time of year. The first couple of years that Heather and I were married we were very intentional about summing up our year and sending out Christmas greetings to our friends and family. We've failed to get ourselves organized enough in the last couple of years, but have begun talking about what we might do this year.

Do we send out the "Christmas Letter?" Do we do a photo-card? Do we send traditional cards? Or, do we send e-greetings to our loved ones this year?

I learned last week that citizens of the good old US of A send each other enough Christmas Cards each year to fill an entire football field - 10 stories high. It takes approximately 300,000 trees each year to produce those cards. Wow - Happy Birthday Jesus!

So, if Heather and I get ourselves organized enough to send out Christmas Greetings this year, look for them to come via email. And if we don't get ourselves organized, know that we think of you, our friends and family, often, and consider our relationships with you the greatest gifts we could ever receive.
